Banking and Your Heart

You’re probably wondering what your heart and mouth have to do with banking. Like your checking account, your heart only holds what you’ve deposited into it. Conversely, your heart will only let you withdraw what you’ve deposited.

Scripture says, “The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For out of the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks.” Luke 6:45

You can only make a withdrawal on that which you have deposited in your life.

When we attempt to withdraw more than we’ve deposited our hearts become overdrawn. That’s why it’s important to take time and refill what’s been depleted. Many people live their lives with overdrawn hearts. That’s why a daily bible reading time is important. When you’re reading your bible, you’re filling up your tank.

The good news is we get to choose how much and what is deposited into our hearts. I don’t know about you, but I prefer my accounts to be full. I would encourage you to take a few minutes each day and fill up your tank. The best way to do this is with a bible reading plan and a devotional book. Remember, you can only make a withdrawal on that in which you have deposited in your life.

If you’re looking for a good devotional book, I would encourage you to give my recent one a look. Each one is about one page in length and can be read in under two minutes.
