As a believer, it’s easy to play the Monday morning quarterback. We’ve all seen enough of the TV talking bobbleheads. We like to listen to them discuss what they would have done if they were in someone else’s shoes. The problem is that we are not in other people’s shoes and we often look through their past perspectives and not in real-time.
It’s easy to find ourselves being judgemental when other people do not measure up to our standards. The Bible warns us of judging others. Jesus himself said…
Do not judge others, and you will not be judged. For you will be treated as you treat others. The standard you use in judging is the standard by which you will be judged. (Matthew 7:2)
This verse is pretty straightforward. Apparently, God doesn’t like it when we judge others. How you judge others is how you’ll be judged. It never hurts to extend a little grace to someone. You might just need some yourself one day.
