The Best Advice When You’re Tempted To Say Something Stupid
Do you occasionally put your foot in your mouth? I have on several occasions. I’m actually pretty good at it.
Just recently, I insulted my oldest daughter and I wasn’t even trying. I simply said something without thinking about it. After saying it I realized my stupidity.
My mouth tends to get me in trouble a lot. I have a quick sense of humor and I sometimes say things I later regret. I’m not as bad as I used to be though.
I’m learning to keep silent when I’m tempted to say something stupid. The Bible refers to people who can’t keep silent as fools. It has a whole book devoted to helping fools be smarter.
Even a fool who keeps silent is considered wise; when he closes his lips, he is deemed intelligent.
According to the Bible the best thing you can do when you’re tempted to say something stupid is to keep silent. People who are deemed as intelligent usually do a good job of keeping their mouths in check.
It’s hard to get in trouble for something you didn’t say.
